My, How Things Have Changed: My Journey to Healthcare Marketing

During college in the late 90's, I worked for a cosmetic surgeon so I'd have extra $$ to take dance classes and get my coffee fix at DD. I'd wake up early and head to the office for the morning patient rush, grab lunch, and I'd be back at school with a bun in my hair in ballet class by 1pm. The practice had only been open for about a year, and referrals were just 'ok' - but as you know, you need an overflowing schedule to grow. We needed to reach more patients, stat! I found myself wearing many hats, working the front desk, managing patient care, keeping the plants alive and coming up with ways to market the practice. At the time, I didn't know anything about "integrated marketing strategies", but I was given the opportunity to test out my ideas to learn what worked and what didn't work... Every experiment, every success, and every setback became building blocks that forged my path forward. Little did I know then, those experiences would pave the way for my venture into the realm of healthcare marketing. That journey brought me to where I am today, passionately fueling practice growth and empowerment. But things have changed a lot in the last 25 years! The ubiquitous connectivity of the internet has transformed the landscape. Integrated marketing strategies, once a mystery, now weave together to amplify visibility and nurture online presence. Practices are embracing a new era, where meticulously crafted online marketing endeavors and websites brimming with character pave the path to patient expansion.

I'm forever grateful for the opportunity to work with a physician that was eager to grow her practice and trusted my burgeoning creativity and resourcefulness.

Today, I have a bit more experience under my belt, I'm celebrating 14 years in business this year, and believe it or not, I've continued dancing professionally since the summer I graduated.

Oh, and that practice? I never really left. Even after moving on to pursue a career that led to director-level corporate marketing roles, I was still her go-to-gal. She's part of the reason that I started my business, since she continued to put her trust in me long after I left the practice. And yes, she's still one of my favorite clients to work with!
